Fresh Food Shop!

As I was feeling a little under the weather for soo long I thought I'd pop to Morrison's and purchase only fresh food to try and help my immune system. I think it really helped so I thought I'd share what I made!

First was a smoothie. I could live off smoothies but their quite expensive to keep up. From my snapchat you can see I blended up blueberries, bananas and strawberries along with natural yoghurt and orange juice. It made three glasses full and was super yummy.

For breakfast I made an omelette (I swear it's an omelette) with mushrooms, peppers, onions and cheese. The cheese makes it so much tastier but I could easily have it without it to make it more healthier. Moving on from my dreadful omelette presentation...

I made stuffed red and yellow peppers. For this I just boiled rice and added sweetcorn and mushrooms. Scooped them into the peppers and put them in the oven for a bit topped with cheese.

For dinner I had sweet potato and spinach curry with garlic naan bread. It's one of my favourite meals now since my vegetarian friend made it for me. Again super easy to make and it could make two to three portions.

I really did feel much better after that healthy weekend and I also drank a lot, a lot of water and peppermint tea so it was worth the staying in and cooking three square meals.

Valentines Weekend in Edinburgh

The photo above may be a little too romantic for what I'm about to write. Firstly that's the cheapest wine I could find in Sainsbury's and secondly I went with one of my best friends Matthew, not a boyfriend. Still, I had thee best time.

We arrived on Wed 12th, found our hostel, had a walk about, ate and then went out to a pub called The Three Sisters that was just opposite our hostel. Very handy.

We mainly went because they done 2 pints in the one cup, pictured above. Took us about an hour to get through it. We then moved onto Liquid Rooms which was a bit poopy from what I remember.

Next day (Thurs 13th) we went to Subway and in walks Rizzle Kicks. It was only us and them in the shop, a bit surreal. I was too embarrassed to get a picture so I took a cheeky one when they left.

That night we met up with my cousin, who lives in Edinburgh, for drinks in Jekyll and Hyde. Such a nice place!! I loved it, we drank the nicest cocktails there. We then convinced my cousin to come out with us and met him in Planet, apparently some dingy gay bar but cheap. Then on to GHQ, I'm the biggest faghag ever so it ended up being one of the best night out I've had.

Miley Cyrus much? So the next day is Valentines Day and we were supposed to get the 9pm train home but we decided to stay another night! We didn't mind booking another night in the hostel because we were sharing our room with a really nice Australian couple who were backpacking through Europe. So this was our third night out in a row, didn't think I was capable of two night out in a row but when I'm away I don't seem to get hangovers. With another bottle of cheap wine done we headed to Bongo. It was the weirdest place I've ever been too and I loved it. Confusion is Sex and Where the Weird is Normal was their theme. Not wise.

Next day (Sat 15th) we missed our 11am bus and had to wait on the 11pm one. I wanted to die but we kept ourselves occupied moving from coffee shop to coffee shop. I facetimed home when I was in the station which was really nice to see my mummy and younger brother. Also there's these lights in St. Andrew's Square, pictured above, which were really pretty!

So that was our time in Edinburgh, with a few blurry details left out. It's such a pretty city and I can't wait to go back!

First Beauty Makeup Haul in 2014!

I've been feeling super poorly recently so I took a trip to boots to cheer me up! It worked.

I don't normal have a look at the collection section apart from when I need a concealer but I thought I'd have a nosy. To be honest the £3 price tag drew me in and I bought the smokey eye palette, because it was so cheap I thought I'd give it a go.

Now that I have darker hair I've wanted to try a darker foundation and bronzer so I bought rimmels match perfection in classic beige and bourjois delice de poudre bronzing powder.

Something I did not own before now was lip liners. I have the smallest lips ever that completely disappear when I smile so I though I have to do something about it. I watched a video on making your lips look bigger and was inspired to buy rimmels 1000 kisses lasting finish lip pencil in indian pink and MUAs lip liner in pink me up.

With MUA products usually being £1 I can't stay away from it, I caved and bought an eyeliner in starry night which is a glittery black, a bronzer in shade 3, a blusher in cupcake and a lipstick in shade 11.

Another lipstick I bought was Kate Moss in shade 107, both lipsticks pictured below.

So that was my makeup buys to make me feel better! It's defiantly helping.

LONDON GRAMMAR

Last night me and a few friends went to see London Grammar in my student union. We were supposed to see them in October but it got postponed so we've been waiting a long time and it was defiantly worth it!
There were two support acts Say Lou Lou and Kyan, both were actually really good which is always a bonus.

me and joe having a boogie before hand

The lead singer, Hannah Reid, has thee most beautiful voice ever, honestly she is flawless. My favourite song off the album 'when we were young' wasn't played but I came out with a new favourite, 'metal and dust'. The guy playing the way he did on the drums just made it for me. Also helps that he is fineee. They were all perfect and everyone had an awesome night, defiantly one of the better gigs I've been too!

What I'm Listening To #5

These posts aren't very knowledgeable about the artists or the songs, I just post songs I like and hope that you like them too but if you'd want to read more information let me know and I'll do some research next time :) Most of the time I just like a song because I like it, I'm not really a person who gets excited about the third riff on the second verse, if that's even a thing haha. Hopefully you'll like these posts because there's good sounds and a good vibe!

The Smiths - This Charming Man

I've been really into The Smiths recently and can't stop listening to this song! I really wana read Morrissey's autobiography, he seems like an interesting character. If any of you have read it let me know!

Valerie June - You Can't Be Told

I got this song free on iTunes and loved it. I haven't listened to any of her other stuff but I love this sound. A bit different from what's out their now.

Switchfoot - Awakening

I have loved this song for years! It gets me so pumped for life. The video is funny and the lyrics are just really inspiring for me. Check out their equally if not more inspiring song Dare You To Move!

A Day In The Life

I haven't posted in a while and I think I've forgotten the main reason why I set up this blog. It's supposed to be an online scrapbook for me to look back on in years to come. Even though I've been doing things, cinema, night's out, dinners, I haven't been blogging about them because they seem too mundane. I kinda want to write about them though, instead of it being a 3 word mention on my wall calender. On that note I've done a day in the life. It's not exactly a jet setter life style but this is pretty much what I get up to on a daily basis.
31/01/2014

7am waking up in the morning.
Jokes, got up, breakfast, showered, dressed.

Left the house at 9:30 for my 10am counselling lecture.
Learnt about Psychodynamic Therapy.
Pretty interesting actually.

After the lecture I went to the coco labs to do a mindfulness meditation test for my friends dissertation.

Lunch time in the SU with Kerry, Amy, Eve, Chloe, Rach and Mark.
Kerry was extremely hungover so that provided endless entertainment, bless her.

Next, a 2 hour abnormal psychology lecture at 2pm.
Not the most uplifting topic but a had a multeaster bunny!
Kerry made it half way through and then had to go home, what a trooper.

As well as a multeaster bunny I played a lot of Devil Bird, I mean Flappy Bird.
My highest score is still 10 and I blame Satan for creating it!

The weather was horrible an rainy all day so that night me, Matthew and his friend Tom got a Chinese and watched some scary movies.

I guess that's it really. I'm really going to try and take pictures and blog more of what I'm doing, I love looking back, even if it's a post like this.
