OK so 2013 wasn't bad but it is coming to and end and how could I not incorporate Breaking Bad into this post, one of the most talked about things this year. I for one, defiantly contributed to that fact.
I came up with this post as a fun way of looking back over my life in 2013. A lot has been missed and these are by no means the best 26 things that happened to me in 26 but they do fit the alphabet, roughly.
Adventure Time
This is the first picture on my Facebook album of 2013 so I thought I'd start with that.
It makes me laugh every time.
Tash and Lorna being eejits as per.
Barcelona
Back in April I went on a trip to Barcelona with three of my friends.
First holiday without my family.
True experience.
Christmas Cheer
This was taken in my student's union, last day of term. Everyone was wearing a santa hat and it was such a feel good vibe.
Dublin
Me, Tash and Lorna took a roadtrip down to Dublin, Ireland's capital city. I'm quite ashamed to say I've only ever been to it's airport so it was super nice to experience it's Irish culture.
Edinburgh
In March me and my friends Kerry and Joe spent the night up in Edinburgh for a Bastille concert.
They are amazing live! So glad I've got to see them.
We went out after in the bar opposite our hostel and had the best night out in a different city.
Family
It's hard being in a different country than my family for most of the year but when I come home it makes the time we have together more special. Cheese but true.
Girls
This year I live with five of the most cutest girlies ev. (Including Matt, our unofficial housemate).
Left to right, Sally, Rach, Lisa and Amy.
Super fun times YEAH!
Home
These are my other girls, my home birds.
Lorna, Tash, Sam and me.
We've been friends all our lives so it's so much fun to come home during the holidays and have loads of catch ups!
Iconic
A word I have Mr. Oakley to thank for, to be honest I'm really scraping the alphabet barrel here but this picture contains all my icons, my four best friends including the person that took the photo.
Perks of being a Wallflower means something to all of us.
It is indeed, iconic.
Joe
The person that took that photo is this gorgeous hunk of man right here. We meet in first year and I've been following him ever since. He's the best non-Irish person on the planet, I feel blessed to have him in my life.
Kute
Cute but the C was taken, I'm so klever.
This is for all the times I've left the house looking reasonable before the peach snapps and j-bombs take over.
Also for my over use of the word cute.
London
London is one of my favourite places in the world and I'm so lucky to have took a few trips down this year.
Matthew
This year my friend of 10 years started 1st year at the same uni as me.
He has been my saviour of 3rd year and I can't thank him enough.
I play the annoying cheesy little sister role all too well but he loves me really.
He's such a credit to me, his family and the human race. I wish nothing but good things for such an awesome human being.
Newcastle
This is my last year at university in Newcastle and it's been the best decision to study away from home. The people I've met are amazing and the memories I've made are priceless.
Ombre
This year I've had my hair three different colours at different times. I was red for a lock of months and for the summer I went Ombre. It was really on trend and I loved having it with wavy hair. I think I was a bit to lazy to keep it though because I hardly ever styled it.
Now I'm back to a mixture of dark/medium browns.
People
This year I've realised how I have so many good people around me that there's no need to tolerate the bad. All of my friends are incredible people, I'm so lucky to have always been apart of a friendship group with zero bitches. So that lowered the tone but I'm super thankful to have support and love.
Queenz
This place has been mine and Matt's local this year. All hail Rusty's. To anyone else it's a dingy little gay bar for cheap pre's.
It's filled with queens and me and Matt are no exception. I love super chilled places where you don't have to impress and this place is perfect.
Reunited
This picture was taken this summer on the first night out since I had come home.
I miss these girls a lot when I'm at uni.
We've all been super busy this year but we still make time for each other, even if it's just a text. THE BOND WILL NOT BE BROKEN.
Sorry I've been writing this post for a while.
Sunshine
After the start of the year being nothing but inconvenient snow we did get some sunshine and we tried to make the most of it.
BBQ's, late nights, drinks with friends and chilled music.
Tequila
Me and Sarah had three round with this thing and it's won each time.
The nights out I've had with this girl have been hilarious from digi to cane lady, from basement to the SU.
Full drinking speed ahead with this honorary Irish friend.
Unmissable
Unmissable moments that I only remember from pictures have thought me to sip a little less. Maybe next year I'll try a sober night out for once, maybe.
Visits
I constantly tell my friends from home to visit me at uni, it's free accommodation in Newcastle, don't pass it up!
Earlier in the year my friend Michaela came over for little less than a week.
Newcastle didn't know what hit it.
Wise
Not wise.
No one is wise.
X
The last two people to get a specific mention in this years post are my sisters Lorna and Tash. They get mentioned a lot on my blog because they are such a huge part of me.
They own my heart and I thank God every day for them. I am someone, if you can't already tell, who believes in telling the people you love that you love them. It's so simple but yet I don't feel people do it enough. They've been with me from the start and have given me another amazing year.
(that was me holing back on the cheese, honestly)
York
This year I got to visit another place that I hadn't been too before, York, a beautiful city in England.
I went with Joe for lovely day out where we found a small vegetarian restaurant where I had food envy drinking my peppermint tea.
Zzz
I have slept A LOT this year and I hate it. I love life and feel sick at the thought of the average human sleeping a 1/3 of their life. I understand that it's needed but too much can be harmful.
Next year I'm going to work on getting a consistent sleeping pattern that allows me to do the most with my life.
I'm excited for what the next year will bring and I loved looking back on 2013.
I hope you had a wonderful 2013 and good luck for 2014.
